I was listening to her bands EP....Hollywood Ending....while reading Twitter/doing nothing and came across a post from Frankie and wondered why she had not been on Lunch with Dan Boul recently....she is after all a 65Amps Artist....I suddenly knew the reason why....
"There are five stages of recovery for the brain after a trauma, and I have recently been assessed at stage two. To put this in perspective, stage 1 was: can you stand up, can you tie your shoes, how do you process light, how do you process sound. Now it’s can you walk, and for how long. Can you look at a page in a book. Can you problem solve coherently. Can you write things down and if so, for how long.
Certainly the arc of recovery is longer now looking back than I could have estimated or imagined in September when I had the accident. But I think that’s okay. Perhaps oddly, even amidst moments of extreme illness or incapacitation, this concussion season has never felt quote-unquote like something “bad” that has happened. It is really hard at times, scary at other times, painful, it is challenging, it is purposeful, but to put it as succinctly as I can for those who ask: it mostly feels like life. We live things and they become our stories."
I then spent the next hour trying to find out what the fuck was going on....reading between the lines I think she came off her skateboard but didn't bounce back up....I remember coming off mine as a kid...."I still have one of my boards in the garage"....I also remember coming off my push bike as a grown up....coming round to pins and needle's all over my body....wondering why I was pushing my head hard into the dirt....after the first couple of times you knock yourself out it's kinda trippy....not....
I sent her a shout out on Twitter hoping her well....bought her bands EP....Hollywood Ending...."again....why not"....from Amazon and watched her Keep Walking video on YouTube....Send her some love guys if you can....because apart from being really nice....she's one of us.... ....Keep Walking Frankie...."no joke intended...."....k.j.
